The Daniel Academy is a Christian Co-op school in Bloomington, Illinois for students in preschool through high school. It brings together elements of both Classical Education and Charlotte Mason approaches to Christian Education. At TDA, our vision is to train our students like modern-day versions of Daniel in the Old Testament, helping them become young men and women prepared with both spiritual and academic excellence, ready to be Christ's ambassadors and use their gifts to serve others wherever they go . . . the university, the marketplace and the world.
We do this through creating a fun atmosphere where deep friendships can emerge, while also focusing on high-quality, Bible-centered classroom education with student-led worship assemblies, and three-times-a-day prayer.
The Daniel Academy was established in 2015, and currently has over 60 students enrolled, plus numerous preschoolers. Our model integrates families into the education process, allowing parents to directly participate at the school with their children.
Family Partnership Cooperative Model – We have a unique model of partnership with our parents at TDA. We know that parents have the primary responsibility before the Lord in training their children. We desire to support our families academically, spiritually and emotionally in their children's homeschool journey!
We have a one-day schooling model in the classroom with four days at home, schooling with the parents. We leverage the Christian Classical Education model. Students learn and practice new concepts in the classroom every Thursday, and then work with their parents on studies at home throughout the week. This allows parents to be the primary teachers, without carrying the full weight of instruction. This also gives more time for our families to do extra-curricular activities that are very important in the growth of students.
